1. Autism Spectrum Disorder is a severe neurodevelopmental disorder usually seen in infancy and childhood characterized by significant disturbances in social, communicative, and behavior functions.  The prevalence of ASD is 10-50/10 000, which increases year by year.  At present, there are 32 million autistic people.  75% of them have mental retardation.  70% of them can not live independently when they grow up, and they need support from their family and the society.

2. ASD is a highly heterogeneous disease.  Its heritability is above 90%.  And it is one of the most obvious diseases with genetic tendency at present.
